Have u ever wondered why we have museums?, why do governments spend public money to store artifacts? or why do we need to enshrine and collect all sorts of material for future generations?....well lemme first say that museums are ofcourse not a place for couples looking for privacy, we do not want those stones and rock pieces or the once used valuables to witness u get romantic....well the oblivious moved out i would like to say that museums are not a place to get your family together and go for a picnic....the authorities do not invest into it to see your children moving around with their wilows to smack some strange kind of a sphere and then admire the smack with the intensity and speed of the its flight.....and ofcourse we could do a lot better by making an effort to preserve our ecology rather than collect used stuff for the generations to follow.....
Then what are these large buidings with hoards of unwanted stuff doing....from the pyramids of egypt to the louvre in france.....from all those churches in rome boasting of michealangelo to the ajanta and ellora caves, from the once upon a time palaces of kings to prehistoric temples....baffling.... atleast to me, not when i think what are they for but when i wonder that it still does manage to get people visit these humongous places.....don get me wrong I never said that they are useless, infact, my purpose is just the opposite….i for one am all for museums…..i think I have this fascination for history…..highest in class in the subject( yes I know u dread, but all kinds of ppl make the world and I belong to the strange group of people who make up the strange place called earth)…..
Not digressing from the topic museums are a place where I can spend entire weekends….trust me it’s a wonderful way to spend ur holiday…..the atmosphere is peaceful, and the images serene…..the beautiful artifacts will captivate u for the entire months…..after a visit I generally keep on visualizing my visit….just to imagine how people used to live…..the kind of technology in their times…..their strategies of life or for a teenager today their strategies of survival(ofcourse u cannot live without an i-pod, without that latest mobile handset, electricity and cars, air conditioners are of course a part of our own body)…..
My latest visit was to the Salarjung palace in Hyderabad…..loved to see things from the perspective of the once richest man in the world…..transfixed….his lifestyle, his interests, his hobbies, and over the period collected valuables are just mesmerizing…..his love for art is something worth mentioning….the sculptures and the water works shall take ur breath away….the detailing of the artists…..well did I mention about the architecture of the building and his working staff…. U would need the best of managers of the times to control such an affair, the best of technicians…..again, the detailing…..and if after all that ur heart still craves for more take an autorikshaw to the Choumala palace under renovation but open to public…..and what u get to see would be something you never forget for a lifetime…..the throne, nizam’s bedroom, drawing room, reading room as he had left it…..something like the one in trimurti in delhi but the grandeur here is something else……
I would not go into the details and nor would I be answering the questions I asked in the beginning of the post…..something for u to think over….

This is in fact true, it is not the place for any couple to go cozy, neither it is the place to do anything that is not desired by the dignity of the place. This place tells you about how you have been in your past and how the transition has come when you have reached this place. There will be a time when you will be seeing autorikshaws and even small models of your own houses in the museum.... the time will b here soon...Remember with every second we are also becoming a part of the history!
